This is a 7-day workshop that looks at the potential of a select ‘everyday’ object and explores the ways in which it can be used to create an installation.

We would like to take something that people are very familiar with and elevate it in a way that excites the imagination. This would involve making it “perform” in new ways in relation to light, sound, and touch.
This workshop proposes to examine new ways of making and representing. We would like the process to be participatory, starting with an online interactive poll asking our audience to suggest objects that come to mind when they think of Kampala. We would then select the final object prior to the start of the 7-day workshop.

The workshop participants will be selected architecture students and young proffesionals who are part of the KDW audience and will be facilitated by both local architect, Doreen Adengo, Adengo Architecture, and UK architects Viliina Koivisto and Mark Nixon, NEON.

Applicants must:
- be 18 years old or above
- have experience in architectural drawing
- experience with using of simple tools

The workshop will be facilitated by Adengo Architecture (UG) and NEON (UK).
The workshop will comprise of sourcing of materials, design charrattes and assembling of final installation.
